Richard was born about 1852 in VA. Richard's father was Joseph Mitchell and his mother was Elender Nellie WILLIAMSON. His paternal grandparents were John Mitchell and Sarah; his maternal grandparents were Richard WILLIAMSON and Jane "Jenny" WILEY.
