Margaret was born in 1096 in Clare, Suffolk, Eng.. Margaret's father was Gilbert Fitzrichard Clare and her mother was Adelaide Clermont. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Fitzgilbert Clare and Rohese Gifford; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Clermont and Margaret Roucy. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Richard Fitzgilbert, Baldwin, John, Agnes, Hawise and Roheasia. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She had a half-brother named Richard. She died at the age of 89 in 1185.-
