(Sir) Edward was born in Essesdine, Rutland.1 (Sir) Edward's father was (Sir) Edward Le Despenser and his mother was Anne De Ferrers. His paternal grandparents were Hugh le Despenser and Eleanor De Clare. He was an only child. He died on November 11th, 1375 in Llanblethian, Wales.1 General Notes
