John was born in 1697 in St. Mary's, Charles, MD.1 John's father was Richard LeMaistre and his mother was Martha Dennis. His paternal grandparents were Abraham LeMaistre and Elizabeth Alice Cooksey; his maternal grandparents were John Dennis and UNKNOWN Lysbet. He was an only child. We think this is the father of the John we find in Amherst Count;y Va. in
1767.
We knew our LeMaster line moved from Md to Va. to Kentucky, and then
Lancaster, according to family records journeyed from Frankfort, Ky. in a
covered wagon, with his family, to Arkansas right before the Civil War.
This makes us pretty sure that this is our blood line.We think this the
father of John who has miragrated to Almherst Count;y Va. abt 1767 who
bought land on Porrige Creel. This was the only John in the area at this
date. John and his wife Ann sold their right and title of "Betty's
Delight" to Abraham Hargass. recorded March 28, 1747 in Charles Co. Md.
