Jane was born on June 27th, 1818 in New York.1 Jane's father was Elisha S. Russell and her mother was Lucy Campbell. Her paternal grandparents were Jonathan Russell and Mrs. Pricilla Russell. She had four brothers and a sister, named George Morris, William E., Joshua, Charles Edward and Polly. She was the third youngest of the six children. She had three half-brothers named James, Myron E. and Hirem Wesley. She died at the age of 81 on March 1st, 1900 in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.
