George Graft 
George was born on April 6th, 1739 in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, U.S.A..1 George's father was Hans (John) Graf and his mother was Elizabeth Carpenter Zimmerman. His paternal grandparents were Hans Conrad Graeff and Ursula Neukomm; his maternal grandparents were Heinrich (Henry Carpenter) Zimmerman and Salome Ruffner. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, Henry, Elizabeth and Catharine. He was the third oldest of the five children. George Graf, the son of Hans Graf Jr. and Elizabeth Carpenter Graf, was born
April 6, 1739 in Lancaster County and died April 10, 1778, while a prisoner of War, during the American Revolution. He married ed in Lancaster County, Mary Ferret, daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (ltinge) Ferret.
Abraham Ferret was the son of Philip Ferret, the Huguenot, who married Lesh DuBois (Abraham, Louis) and his wife was the daughter of Cornelius El tinge and wife Rebecca Van Meter of Ulster Co., N.Y. The will of Abraham Ferret of Strasburg Township, Lancaster County, names wife Elizabeth and four daughters, Rebecca, wife of David Shriver, Rachel, wife of David Miskimmins, Elizabeth, wife of William Miller and Mary, wife of George Graf; sons Israel and Cornelius. He further says, "The reason I have not mentioned my two daughters, viz. Rebecca, wife of David Shriver and Mary, wife of George Graf not having part of my real estate, was on account of a former agreement made
between my wife and I that she was to make an equal division of her estate at Potomac and Sinnequer Creek (Md.) between the two daughters".
George Graf went into Maryland later than his father and brother Jacob, and seems to have settled on land given his wife by her Mother, Elizabeth Eltinge.
After the death of George Graf, his widow, Mary, married at Hagerstown, Nov. 20, 1783, Griffith Willett and with her youngest son, Abraham, removed to Kentucky and settled near Bardstown.
George and Mary (Ferret) Graf had issue twelve children, all of whom wrote the name Grove, except the family of Abraham who used or write the name Graft.
The descendants of George Graf are to be found in the court records of Jefferson Co., West Virginia, in the settlement of the estate of William Grove.
Before 1759: lived in Prince Georges County, Maryland near Alexandria Virginia.

15 Oct 1781: Thought to have been killed (died in prison) in the Revolutionary War according to inventory of papers filed Montgomery Count y Maryland.
