Halfdan was born about 0990 in Ringerike,Norway. Halfdan's father was Sigurd Syr Halfdansson and his mother was Asta Astrid (Astrid) Gudbrandsdatter. His paternal grandfather was Halfdan Sigurdsson; his maternal grandparents were Gudbrand Kulasson and Gunnhild Thorasdottir. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Hardrada, Guthorm, Ingirid and Gunnhild. He had a half-brother named The Saint. He died before 1047.General Notes
