Alfred's father was Albert Von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and his mother was Victoria Hanover. His maternal grandparents were Duke Edward Hanover Of Kent and Victoria Von Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Leopold, Arthur, Edward VII, Victoria, Alice, Louise, Beatrice and Helena.
