Sir James Sandilands, 2nd of Calder; Margaret, Countess of Angus and Mar engineered his renunciation (royal confirmation 1397) of any succession to the unentailed Douglas estates in favour of George Douglas, 1st Earl of Angus of the 1389 creation, her illegitimate son by 1st Earl of Douglas; married 1384 Joan, daughter of Robert II, and widow of (a) Sir John Keith and (b) Sir John Lyon of Glamis.
