Mathais was born about 1750 in Mobile Albama. Mathais' father was Jean Baptiste Leflore and his mother was Jeanne Boissinot. His paternal grandparents were Jacques LeFlau and Magdelene Vichet Riche. He had a brother and three sisters, named Louis, Marie Louise, Gabriel and Jeanne. He had six half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Jean Claude, Jean Franoise, Jean Bertrand, Louis, Jean Pierre, Michael, Marie Anne, Marquerite, Louisa and Marie Francoise. He died on September 7th, 1793 in Mobile Albama.-
