Henry was born in 1364.1   Henry's father was William De Stanley and his mother was Lady Alice Massey.  His paternal grandparents were John De Stanley and Mabel Hawksket; his maternal grandparents were Hamon Massey and Matilda Timperley. He had two brothers and a sister, named William, John and Matilda.  He was the youngest of the four children.
