William was born in 1262 in HOOTEN,CHESHIRE,ENGLAND.1   William's father was Walter De Stanley.  His paternal grandfather was William De Stanley.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 49 in 1311.1

‌William and Joan were married in a religious ceremony on December 27th, 1282 in ASTBURY,CHESHIRE,ENGLAND.1   They had two sons and a daughter, named Adam, John and Sarah.
