His paternal grandparents were Count Foulques II (Le Bon) De Anjou and Gerberga De Gatinais Of Bourgogne; his maternal grandparents were Count Robert I Carolingian Of Troyes, Meaux & Chalon and Countess Adelaide Adele"Wera" De Chalon Of Vergy,Troyes & Vermandois . He had two brothers and three sisters, named Maurice, Geoffroy, Adelia, Ermengarde and Gerberge. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Hugues I, Gerberge, Maud and Elizabeth.
