Foulques III, known as Le Noir, was born in Anjou,France.1   Le Noir's father was Count Geoffrey I (Grisgonelle) De Anjou and his mother was Adele "Adelaide" Carolingian Of Troyes & Vermanois.  His paternal grandparents were Count Foulques II (Le Bon) De Anjou and Gerberga De Gatinais Of Bourgogne; his maternal grandparents were Count Robert I Carolingian Of Troyes, Meaux & Chalon and Countess Adelaide Adele"Wera" De Chalon Of Vergy,Troyes & Vermandois . He had two brothers and three sisters, named Maurice, Geoffroy, Adelia, Ermengarde and Gerberge. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Hugues I, Gerberge, Maud and Elizabeth.  He died on June 21st, 1040 in Metz.2 


Le Noir's family

‌Le Noir were married in a religious ceremony in 1000 in Anjou,France.  He had a biological daughter named Ermengarde.
