Rothilde's father was Emperor Charlemagne Carolingian Of The Holy Roman Empire, King Of the Franks and her mother was Lady Hildegarde De Swabia.  Her paternal grandparents were King Pepin III (The Short) Carolingian Of The Franks & Mayor Of Austrisia and Countess Berthe De Laon; her maternal grandparents were Duke Gerold I De Swabia Count Of Vinzgua and Lady Emma Von Bayern Of Allemania. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Charles, Lothar, Pepin I, The Pious, Adelaide, Ermentrude, Alpaide, Bertha, Gisela and Hildegarde. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Drogo, The Bastard, Hiltrude, Theotrada, Adaltrude and Rothild.
