Louis II's father was Emperor Lothaire I Carolingian Of The Holy Roman Empire, King Of Italy and his mother was Countess Ermengarde De Alsace Of Tours.  His paternal grandparents were Emperor Louis I (The Pious) Carolingian Of The Holy Roman Empire, King Of Aquitaine and Princess Ermengarde De Hesbaye; his maternal grandparents were Count Hugues III (The Magnificent) De Alsace Of Upper Alsace and Ava De Tours. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Lothaire II, Charles, Ermengarde and Rothilde.  He died in 0875.
