Raymond I, known as The Crooked, was born in 1005 in Barcelona,Spain.1   The Crooked's father was Count Borrel II De Barcelona and his mother was Ermensinde De Commignes Of Carcasonne.  His paternal grandparents were Count Borrel I De Barcelona and Luitgarde De Toulouse; his maternal grandparents were Count Roger I De Commignes Of Carcasonne and Adelaide De Toulouse. He had two sisters named Godchilde and Adelaide.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Sibylle.  He died at the age of 30 on May 26th, 1035.1

‌The Crooked and Sancha were married in a religious ceremony in 1021 in Spain.  They had a son named Raymond II.
