Irene was born on July 23rd, 1870 in Buenos Aires. Irene's father was Alejandro Montes De Oca Y Rodriguez and her mother was Josefa Victoria Fernandez Y Olaguibel. Her paternal grandparents were Médico Dr Juan José Montes De Oca Y Rodriguez and Irene Rodriguez Palavecino. She was an only child.
