Simon Ier was born about 1085. Simon Ier's father was Thierry II De Haute-Lorraine and his mother was Hedwige De Forbach. His paternal grandparents were Gérard Ier Le Grand De Haute-Lorraine and Hedwige De Namur; his maternal grandparents were Frédéric De Forbach and Gertrude De Haldensleben. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Thierry III, Gisèle and Pétronille Ou Gertrude. He died on January 13th, 1138.General Notes
