Adelmodis was born in 1150. Adelmodis' father was Guillaume V Taillefer D'angoulème and her mother was Marguerite De Turenne. Her paternal grandparents were Wulgrin II D'angoulème and Ponce De La Marche; her maternal grandparents were Raymond Ier De Turenne and Mathilde Du Perche. She had two brothers and a sister, named Wulgrin III Taillefer, Aimar Taillefer and Isabelle. She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Adhémar V Boson.-
