Joana Batista De was born in Santa Luzia-Pb.  Joana Batista De's father was Manuel Fernandes Freire and her mother was Antônia De Morais Valcácer.  Her maternal grandparents were Pedro Ferreira Das Neves and Custódia De Amorim Valcácer. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Cosme Fernandes, José Fernandes, Manoel Fernandes, Catarina Valcácer De, Apolônia Barbosa De, Margarida Freire De, Ana De Amorim, Antônia De Morais and Maria Da Conceição Valcácer.
