Rosco's father was John G. Keys and his mother was Mary Lucretia Allen. His paternal grandparents were George Washington Keys and Elizabeth Lambert Waller; his maternal grandparents were William H. Allen and Matilda Patterson. He had two brothers and five sisters, named George, Louis, Cora, Elizabeth, Lillie, Margaret and Tracy.-
