John Milton Coffland 
John Milton was born on January 7th, 1833 in Belmont County, Oho.1 John Milton's father was Lancelot Coffland and his mother was Eliza Beckett. He had a brother named James William Nicholas. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 78 on August 29th, 1911 in Ada County Idaho. He was buried in Idaho Soldiers Home, Ada County.1 1 General Notes

Civil War Vet Co A 31st Iowa Infantry. He apparently left his family to adventure in the west sometime after 1883 and had to borrow money to return to his wife's funeral. He could not even afford a headstone for her.
He is buried at Idaho Soldiers Cemetery, Ada County, Idaho
John Milton and Malinda Elma were married in a religious ceremony on March 1st, 1855 in Belmont County Ohio.1 They had five sons and two daughters, named Lancelot Columbus, Ross W, Charles Sylvester, John Nelson, Ancil, Mary L and Fedela.

Charles Sylvester was born on February 1st, 1867 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.1 He died at the age of 74 in 1941 in Culdesac, Nez Perce County, Idaho.1
Ancil Coffland
Ancil was born in August 1875 in Marysville, Marion County, Iowa.1 He died at the age of 56 in 1931 in Colfax, Whitman County, Washington.1
They had a daughter named Julia B.
