Samuel Clay 
Samuel was born on May 10th, 1761.1 Samuel's father was Henry Clay and his mother was Rachell Povall. His paternal grandparents were Henry Clay and Lucy Green. He had two brothers and nine sisters, named Henry, John, Rebekah, Sally, Tabitha, Letty, Mary Ann, Mattie, Elizabeth, Henrietta and Rachel.General Notes

Served under General Green in the Carolinas during the Revolutionary War.
His will was probated in Bourbon County, June 1810.
