Frances Gordon 
Frances was born in 1774 in King George Co,VA. Frances' father was Hugh Gordon and her mother was Sarah Owens. Her paternal grandparents were Hugh (James) Gordon and Euphin Manson; her maternal grandparents were Nathaniel Owens and UNKNOWN Unknown. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Jordon, Dorcus, William, Joel, Elijah, Mary "Molly", Noah "Monoah", Anna, Rhoda "Rody", Elizabeth and Sally. She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. She had a half-brother named Frances. She died at the age of 79 in 1853.General Notes
Frances never married.
Upon the death of her father Hugh, the other heirs agreed to allow her to stay at the homestead and manage the farm of about 100 acres. She had the use of one slave woman. By 1853, she was 80 years old, and she now had 19 slaves. Her heirs were afraid she was going to release the slaves upon her death, so they tried to get her declared incompetent. The suit was dismisssed.
