Elizabeth was born in September 1654.  Elizabeth's father was Henry Cook and her mother was Judith Birdsall.  Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Cook and Elizabeth Nicholls; her maternal grandparents were Henry Birdsall and Judith Kempe. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Isaac, John, Henry, Judith, Rachel, Martha, Mary and Hannah.  She was the second youngest of the nine children. She had three half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Isaac, John, Henry, Judith, Rachel, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth and Hannah.
