Joseph Harper Newton

Joseph Harper was born on July 26th, 1835 in Buena Vista, Garrard County, Kentucky.  Joseph Harper's father was Joseph Newton and his mother was Lydia Back.  His paternal grandparents were James Newton and Nancy Gill. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Elijah, Joseph Ahart, Samuel G., Cassandra and Nancy Anne.  He died at the age of 80 on July 29th, 1915 in Howard County, Indiana.  He was buried in Richland Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.
