John Newton

John was born in 1827.  John's father was Samuel Newton and his mother was Kitturah Poates.  His paternal grandparents were James Newton and Nancy Gill; his maternal grandmother was Winny. He had four brothers and a sister, named William H., James, David, Sarah and Francis Ann.  He was the oldest of the six children.
