David Whipkey 
David was born in 1777 in PA.1 David's father was John Jacob Whipkey and his mother was Elizabeth Hurraw. He had four brothers and a sister, named Abraham, John Jacob, Henry B, George and Rebecca. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died after 1810. He was buried in 1850 in Marshall County WV.1 1 General Notes

wp, Somerset county in 1808 when John Henry moved here, so I do not know just wh
en the original John Whipkey moved here, the original homestead is within 20 mil
es of Somerset. Our county history states that in the year 1835, John Henry and
his neighbor trapped and killed 35 bear. John's estate settle 1790.\David and
his family left Somerset county, moved Greene county about 1847. I do not have
much information on the family of David other than to follow his son John Whipk
ey, who lived in Greene county, later moved to Westmoreland County, near Kecksbu
rg, where he died at the age of 75, said to have had seven sons and three daught
er. I have been able to find 4 sons for sure, they are: Peter G, b: Jan 28, 182
1, David G. born: Dec 29, 1823, Noah, born 1840, George born: 1835. \Birthyear
of 1773 for David given as part of Paul E. Courtwright family history.\
