Lawrence Washington 
Lawrence was born in 1718 in Bridge's Creek, Westmoreland Co. VA..1 Lawrence's father was Augustine Washington and his mother was Jane Butler. His paternal grandparents were Lawrence Washington and Mildred Warner-e. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Butler, Augustine, Samuel, Charles, John Augustine, George, Elizabeth, Betty, Child and Mildred. He died at the age of 34 in 1752 in Mt. In 1748, acted with Thomas Lee and his brother Augustine Washington to petition the King fo r permission
for a grant of lands beyond the Alleghanies. They were granted permission pending the build ing
of a fort to protect at least 100 settlers homes in the next seven years. They received a h alf
million acres free of tax for a period of 10 years. They requessted a cargo sutable for Indi an trade
for delivery Nov. 1749. In 1750 Christopher Gist was hired to explor the land and keep not e of his
