Geoffrey V PLANTAGENET 
Geoffrey V was born on August 24th, 1113 in ,,Anjou, France.1 Geoffrey V's father was Fulk V "le Jeune" of Anjou and his mother was Ermengarde (Ermentrude) du MAINE. His paternal grandparents were Fulk IV de Rechin and Bertrade de MONTFORT; his maternal grandparents were Elias de Maine and Matilde de LOIRE. He had a brother and two sisters, named Elias de, Mathilde (Alice) de and Sibilla de. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 38 on September 7th, 1151 in Chateau-du-Loir, Eure-et-Loire, France.1 General Notes

_FA4 PLAC Founder, House of the Plantagenets.The name Plantagenet, according to Rapin, came f rom when Fulk the Great being stung from remorse for some wicked action, in order to atone fo r it, went a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and was scourged before the Holy Sepulchre with broom t wigs. Earlier authorities say it was because Geoffrey bore a branch of yellow broom (Planta-g enistae) in his helm.
