John Cocanougher 
John was born in 1831 in Washington Co, Kentucky.1 John's father was George Cocanougher and his mother was Martha Hilton. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Cocanougher and Nancy Neely Silvertooth; his maternal grandparents were John Hilton and Margaret Ferrill. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, Jacob, George W., Andrew J., Francis Marian, Francis M., Henry H., Adam, Melvina, Melinda and Letisha B.. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 62 on November 17th, 1893 in Washington Co, KY. He was buried in Bethleham Cem. Washington Co. KY.2 2 -
