  The children of James and Monicy moved to Frederick and
  Montgomery Counties before 1787 Your Truman went to NC and
  then returned to Frederick County before 1800 before moving
  to Indiana. I have a deed of manumission releasing slaves
  in the service of their mother after her death signed 1795
  by Truman Hilton, Luke Hilton, James Hilton, William
  Hilton, Levin Hays, Archibald Cecill, James Talbott (these
  men must be married to Hilton sisters).
  
  Truman appears on the 1790 Montgomery County census and
  then disappears. His mother, Monica, and brothers James and
  William are also on the 1790 census. Could he have been
  back in Maryland in between NC and IN?
  
  I have been in touch with another researcher who has all of
  the children of your Truman congruent with you info on this
  message, and she is trying to locate the parents of Truman.
  I believe your Truman is the sibling here because he names
  his first son "James". These Hilton's had a tendency to
  name once of their children after their father. In my own
  family, the fathers name often becomes the middle name.
  
  I also have a power of attorney document from James Hilton
  of Rowan County NC in which he gives the power to John
  Hilton to recover money from William (my Wm) and James
  Hilton of Montgomery County pertaining to money due to his
  wife Verlinder Hilton, one of the sisters of James Hilton,
  Sr. Confusing? I thought so too. This might require more

  COUNTIES MD between 1750-1840. Interested especially in
  William Hilton who married Elizabeth NICHOLLS in 1782,
  James Hilton who married Priscilla HARRIS 1784, Luke Hilton
  who married Margaret WILSON 1790, Truman Hilton who married
  Christina PATRICK 1780, Mary Hilton who married James

  Research of James G. Hilton
  
  I have been searching a HILTON family that resided in
  Baltimore County MD. The first one that I have found is
  John Hilton.He was born some time before 1737. Where ?
  Parents ? He married a Sara probably about 1737. He died in
  Long Green on February 6, 1784. Children Sara,Mary,
  Elizabeth, William, John Jr,James, Patience, Elinor,
  Abraham & Priscilla.

  I am interested in a John Hilton whose wife's name was
  Sarah. I have no other info on them except that three of
  their children were Sarah, Mary, and Elizabeth. Sarah was
  born 25 Mar 1740, Mary was born 13 Mar 1741, and Elizabeth
  was born 8 Sept 1743. Elizabeth married Robert Thrap. My
  husband's line descends from this daughter Elizabeth. Is
  this the same family you mention?
