Maud de was born in 1226 in Breconshire, Wales.1 Maud de's father was Reginald de BRAOSE and her mother was Alice de BRIWERE. Her paternal grandparents were William de BRAOSE and Maud (Matilda) de SAINT VALERY; her maternal grandparents were William II de BRIWERE and Beatrice de VAUX. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John de, William Black Will de, Mary de and Loretta de. She had two half-brothers named Reginald II de and John de.1 General Notes
