Samuel Wylie 
Samuel was born in 1761.1 Samuel's father was James Wylie and his mother was Sarah (McKinney\McKinley?). His maternal grandparents were \\McKinney?) and Mary \\. He had a brother and four sisters, named John, Rebecca, Margaret, Mary and Nancy. He died at the age of 20 in March 1781 in Chester District, South Carolina.1 General Notes

Killed by the Tories according to "Samuel Combest and His Descendants"
book.
In March 1781, He was attacked and killed by Tories, who had come to his
father's plantation. There being no one at home except women and
children, Peggie and Rebecca proceeded to make a crude coffin and bury
their brother at night in a shallow grave near the home. At the time of
his death, Samuel Wylie had been serving on the side of the Colonists
since 1780.
