Her paternal grandparents were John Wheeler and Mary Blessing. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, Isaac, Jacob, Thomas, James B., Solomon, Joseph, Jane, Catherine, Elizabeth and Martha. She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.-
