Susan Ann was born in 1828 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Susan Ann's father was Jacob Wax and her mother was Susan Elizabeth Galbraith. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Wax and Margaret Geschwind; her maternal grandparents were William Galbraith and Ellen. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Henry Geschwind, William Caldwell, Stokley, James H., Nicholas F., Elizabeth E. and Sidney. She was the third youngest of the eight children.-
