John Thorp 
John was born in 1842 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 John's father was William Thorp and his mother was Elizabeth Cocheran. His maternal grandparents were John Cocheran and Sarah Or Sally. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, Sarah and Emily. He was the second oldest of the four children.
