Crocket was born in 1876 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Crocket's father was Robert Spires Or Spears and his mother was Elizabeth Bentley. His paternal grandparents were Gillam Spires Or Spears and Elizabeth Everhart; his maternal grandparents were William Bentley and Anna Wells. He had two brothers and a sister, named James, John and Ann. He was the second oldest of the four children.-
