William Lane Spears 
William Lane was born about 1806 in ,,NC.1 William Lane's father was Bird Booker Spier and his mother was Mary Payton. His paternal grandparents were William Spears and Dorothy Holmes. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Paden Hilary, Jesse P., Pleasant Washington, Thomas G., John Augustus, Malachi M., James Bird, Annis Isabel and Julia. He died in 1864.1 -
