Joseph S. Smith

Joseph S. was born on February 25th, 1858 in Washington Co., Missouri.¹   Joseph S.'s father was William S. Smith and his mother was Emily Simpson.  His paternal grandparents were Benjamin T. Smith and Mrs. Emily Smith; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Simpson and Lovey Coats. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William F., Samuel P., Benjamin, Lovey E., Nancy L., Rosanna and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 35 on May 5th, 1893 in Washington Co., Missouri.  He was buried in May 1893 in Soul's Chapel C., Washington Co., Missouri.^1 1
