Archibald Yates was born on October 31st, 1848 in Washington Co., Ark.1 Archibald Yates' father was Booker Smith and his mother was Mary A. Kite. His paternal grandparents were Robert Smith and Rebecca Stuart; his maternal grandparents were George Sizemore Kite and Susanna Louderback. He had a brother and six sisters, named John A., Louiza M., Elizabeth, Minerva, Susan, Tennessee and Hila Ross. He was the youngest of the eight children.-
