George was born about 1740 in ,Of, Virginia.1 George's father was John Wendel Kite and his mother was Hannah Medlicott. His paternal grandparents were James Kite and Mary Warner. He had three brothers named William, Philip and John.General Notes

A George Kite left a will (1826) in Boone Co., Kentucky. Oddly enoug h, he had
sons William, George and John. In turn, like the George of Hawkins , Tennessee,
he was associated with the Hord family. The only stumbling-block bei ng a wife
called Polly. The George of Augusta Co., Virginia, son of John Wendl e Kite,
had a spouse named Mary (Polly). The earliest George of Hawkins, acc ording to
the tombstone inscription of his son George, was married to Susan Bar rett. It
appears a great coincidence for two George's to have the same relatio ns.
Especially since many of the Tennessee Kites migrated to Illinois vi a Kentucky.
