John Dabney Sims 
John Dabney was born about 1786 in ,,Virginia.1 John Dabney's father was Ignatius M. Sims and his mother was Sabrina Or Sabrah Hobart. His paternal grandparents were Francis Semmes and Lucretia Chapman; his maternal grandparents were Moses Hobart and Patience Bateman. He had a brother named William Robertson. He was the older of the two children. He had three half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Marmaduke Nance, Leo Dabney, Ignatius Andrew Jackson, Mary, Jancie, Anna, Eleanor, Margaret, Exoney, Margaret and Elizabeth. He died on October 23rd, 1842 in ,Bourbon, Kentucky.1 General Notes

It is said that John Dabney was a child of the second wife. Howev er,
if he was born in 1786, as the records state, he would have been so n of Sabrah.
She was a signer of a Henry County deed dated 25 May 1787. The wil l of
Ignatius seems to make John too young. John is called one of the you ng
children. This indicating that he was of the second marriage. But , since John
married 11 Dec 1811, he had to have been at least 21.
