Mary Anna was born on October 10th, 1785.1 Mary Anna's father was John Sharp and her mother was Elizabeth Laughlin. Her paternal grandparents were John Sharp and Jane Hamilton; her maternal grandparents were John Laughlin and Jane Matthews. She had seven sisters named Jane, Elizabeth, Anne, Sarah, Margaret, Mallissa and Clarissa. She was the third youngest of the eight children.-
