Salea Carmeen was born in 1881 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Salea Carmeen's father was Baxter S. Rutledge and her mother was Rachel Ann Cox. Her paternal grandparents were Emanuel Rutledge and Sarah Kate Wilson; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Cox and Barbara Hammond. She had a brother and five sisters, named Lilton Emory, Mary Jane, Arlene Connely, Julia, Lula Rachel Ann and Barbara Frances. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 1 in 1882 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 -
