Mary Brown was born on February 25th, 1882 in Near Mooresberg, Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Mary Brown's father was Thomas Amis Rogers and her mother was Mary Matilda Leftwich. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Amis Rogers and Matilda Nall. She had two brothers and two sisters, named James Leftwich, Thomas Amis, Minnie Blevins and Matilda. She was the youngest of the five children.-
