Provost Payne

Provost was born in 1865 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   Provost's father was John G. Payne and his mother was Catherine. He had a brother named John G..  He was the younger of the two children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Elijah, William F., Joseph S., Rebecca A., Sarah Jane and Victoria.
