William Northern

William was born in 1835 in ,Burke, N.C..¹   William's father was Davis Northern and his mother was Sarah.  His paternal grandfather was Northern. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Ephraim, Nelson, Ellender, Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
