Marilla Murrell 
Marilla was born in 1866 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Marilla's father was James Orville Murrell and her mother was Amanda Lawson. Her paternal grandparents were Pleasant Murrell and Susan Trent; her maternal grandparents were Banks Lawson and Thersey Parvin. She had four brothers and a sister, named Palestine, Dalzell Harrison, Pleasant, James and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the six children.-
