Her paternal grandparents were William Moran and Rebecca Barbour; her maternal grandparents were Henry Clay and Margaret Helm. She had a brother and five sisters, named Young W., Caroline B., Nancy Ann, Elizabeth B., Letitia and Henrietta. She was the third oldest of the seven children.-
